Tuesday's match against Queensway marked the end of our C Division 2013 competition. Queensway was a strong opponent to begin with but the girls held on and played their best game of this competition. Everyone was defending beautifully in the first half - clearing balls down the line, communicating, pressuring the opponents and keeping the tempo of the game high. During the half time break, some girls became teary because of the goals let in, but everyone continued to encourage each other not to give up, to hold their heads up high as they were playing a very good game and they should not be crying at all.
The second half started and the supporters and teachers could see that the girls were obviously tired. This slowed down the game tempo slightly but we could still see determination from the girls in getting back possession of the ball. Special shout outs to the entire team and especially to Ai Fang, our beloved and cute goalkeeper, who did an uncountable amount of amazing saves that we have never seen before throughout the entire game.
With the end of the C Div competition, we hope that the girls have gotten closer as a team. We also hope that they have learnt something from the competition and remember the experiences that they have been exposed to during this one month of competition.
For now, we are back to training for next year's competitions - for the Sec 2s, they will be playing in the B Div competition, and for the Sec 1s, they will now lead the team in next year's C Div competition and be role models for the new batch of Sec 1s.
