Updates for the year of 2013!

C Division 2013

The annual 2013 C Division competition started on 13 August 2013. It was the first game for Sec 1 students and the last time Sec 2 students are playing in the C Division tournament. The game was held at Hong Kah Secondary School and we were playing against MGS. After fearing that the skies would start raining, the dark clouds cleared and the game proceeded as per scheduled. Everyone on the field was obviously nervous from first game jitters but after getting used to the pace, everyone focused their concentration on the game and we scored a goal soon after with a tapped in by Nani. Unfortunately, MGS fought back and got a ball into our goal. The game ended with a 1-1 draw. It was a good experience for the girls and we got 1 point from it.

The second game was against Hong Kah, the defending champion, and it was evident that despite playing against the strongest opponent possible, the girls worked as a team and only let in 2 goals. The game ended with a 0-2 lost. We were improving as a team. It was a good sign.

The third game against Deyi was uneventful as they failed to turn up for the game due to some mix ups. We are currently waiting for results from FAS to confirm if the game would be a walkover or not. This would give us a default win of 3-0 and increase our total points to 4 points.

Our last game will be against Queensway, another strong opponent. It will be played on the 27 August 2013 and the girls need all the luck and support they can get!

Team Updates

The girls have been training hard since the start of the year with their new coach, Wani, and have been making vast improvements. The numerous challenges they have faced bonded them and established new friendships among the juniors and seniors. With the departure of Ms Nisah, whose contributions to the team is deeply appreciated, the team welcomes two new teachers - Ms Chong and Ms Loke, who joined them in July and August respectively. In addition, the team also thank Ms Chandran for her continuous support and guidance.

Last but not least, as the EOY exams are coming, the teachers wish everyone on the team best of luck and to study hard!
